Meatballs with cooked ham from Vignola and pistachios

Ingredients

Ingredients for 29 meatballs:

  • 450 g minced beef meat
  • 120 g thick sliced ham
  • 40 g shelled pistachios
  • 30 g grated parmesan
  • 4 slices of white bread
  • 1 egg
  • milk
  • salt
  • pepper
  • frying oil

Preparation

 

First of all, soak the bread in milk.
Squeeze it carefully and put it in a large bowl.
Cut the ham into pieces and put it in the bowl.
Roughly mince the pistachios with a knife and add them to the other ingredients.
Add the minces meat, the beaten egg and the cheese.
Carefully mix all the ingredients and add salt and pepper if necessary.
Shape the mixture into meatballs slightly larger than a walnut.
Heat the oil in a large saucepan.
Once the oil has reached the desired temperature, deep-fry the meatballs, turning time a couple of times.
Put them on a paper towel, to drain excess oil.
Serve the meatballs while they are hot or warm.
